Spotlight on Brittany Carrigan Owner of the Cover and Everything in Between

Hello Muses & Fallen Friends,

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and took plenty of time to enjoy the weather if you're here in North Carolina like me. Or I hope that you took time to enjoy life with those who matter most. Today we continue with our spotlight on Bloggers and Readers from all over the world. Today I have yet another fascinating pioneer of the multi-tasking arts with me. She's part fearless promoter of indie authors, blogger, writer, editor, and family girl. She has also been there for me with every single new release that I've had so far. Her reliability and honesty sets her apart among the growing pool of reviewers and supporters of literary endeavors. So I'm honored to return the favor for her. Please welcome Brittany Carrigan.

My name is Brittany.  And I am a blogger!  My blog is called The Cover (and Everything in Between...)

Where were you born and where do you call home?
Tucson, AZ/Cripple Creek, CO

How long have you been blogging?
Almost a year

What is the name of the book you most recently blogged about?
Final Life by Rose Garcia

What did you think about the cover?
I liked it. The eyes were mysterious and made me wonder what was going to happen in the story line.

If you could ask the Author 3 questions what would they be?
Hmm… 1. What inspired the Red Desert? 2. How did the story line come to you? 3. What are you coming out with next?

Can you name one of your favorite chapters?
Oh goodness. Umm. No? I liked the whole book.

What was your most favorite character and why?
Probably Trent. He is so sweet!

If this book was part of a series, would you read the next book?
I don’t believe it is, but I would definitely read more from the author.

Was this a book you were asked to review or did you buy it?
I volunteered to review it for a blog tour.

Have you written a book yourself or are you planning to in the future?
No. Possibly, you never know what the future holds ;)

What genre is your favorite and why?
Paranormal. It’s fun to “get away” with them. Contemporary fiction just isn’t different enough for me to escape from reality.

If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what 3 books would you want with you?
1. My combined copy of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
2. Finding Atticus by Tom Ryan.
3. The 2,548 Best Things Anybody Ever Said by Robert Byrne

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?
There are numerous… I can’t name just one… Stephen King would have to be near the top though

Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover?
I like ebooks for short stories. I read them on my phone when I’m out and about. I like paperbacks when I’m at home. I work at a computer all day so it’s nice to have a book in my hand at the end of the day.

Where do you prefer to buy your books?
I buy them pretty much anywhere.

Have you ever read a book more than once?
Yes. Several, actually.

Is there a particular movie or TV series that you preferred over the book version?
I don’t watch much TV and I can honestly say that one doesn’t come to mind. I usually like the book better.

What book are you currently reading and in what format (ebook/paperback/hardcover)?
I’m editing The Man Painter by Melissa Turner Lee, so I’ll have to add Word doc to the list ;) I’m reading The Angry Woman Suite by Lee Fullbright in paperback and Chameleon by Cidney Swanson in ebook.

What book are you about to start reading?
After “The Angry” it will be The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap by Paulette Mahurin. After Chameleon it will be Unfurl by Cidney as well.

What book do you know that you will never read?
Hmm… None that I can think of?

Are there any new Authors that have grasped your interest recently and why?
Rose Garcia (her book, Final Life, is ah-mazing), Rae Hachton (LOVE her writing style), Chelsea Cameron (LOVE her story line)

Have you read a book that you would like to rewrite the ending of?
Not yet ;)

What are your thoughts on book trailers?
I’m not really for or against them. I’ll watch them, but they usually don’t sway my opinion of wanting to read the book.

Do you have a favorite book cover?
Chose up to 3 if you like. There’s too many to list!

Do you ever blog in your PJ’s?
On the weekends, yes.

Fun Tidbit Time...You Know It...

Sleep in or get up early?
I wish I could sleep in! I have 2 pups that wake me up at the buttcrack of dawn every morning.

Pet peeves?
Over confident people. (DITTO) It’s one thing to be comfortable with yourself, but when it reaches a level of douchebaggery, little man syndrome, etc, I just can’t handle it LOL.

What do you hope Santa brings you this year?
The usual…a book, some candy, beef jerky, fruit

If you could plan the perfect holiday, what would it be?
All my friends/family just hanging out, munching on a yummy home cooked meal.

How often do you blog?
Almost every day.

How many books do you read in a month - roughly?
Oh goodness. In a good month, 15 or so. In a busy month, 4. I try to read at least one a week.

Favorite color? Blue

What are 5 items you never leave home without.
Purse with wallet, lotion (I’m addicted to B&BW), phone, chapstick, and my dayplanner

What is your most favorite electronic gadget?
My heating pad. There’s nothing better than crawling into bed after a long day and reading while it relaxes my stresses away ;)

Favorite book character or film character crush.
Yes you can pick 2 :) Book: Cayden, Unforgiven by Cat Miller. Film: Riddick, Pitch Black.

A character you love to hate in what book/TV show or movie.
Oh goodness. Umm… Fritz, The Man Painter by Melissa Turner Lee

Cats or dogs? Dogs. I’m allergic to both, but less so to dogs

White wine or red? White, sweet

Coffee or tea? Tea (with honey)

Favorite food? Anything spicy

Vanilla or chocolate ice cream? Both!

What is a movie or TV show that you watched recently and really enjoyed?
Fast 5, Sherlock Holmes 2

What scares you? Poisonous thingys (snakes, spiders, etc) The non-poisonous ones don’t bother me.
